tennessee. daughter of robert and irma. at age of 3 moved to missouri and returned when she was 12 years old. patricia grew up with segregation and injustices which she writes about. she spent many countless hours in the nashville public library. it was her family life that was bountiful and flowing with tales told by her story telling grandfather. raised with love of reading and oral tradition. graduated from tennessee state and degree in english in 1964. she married her childhood friend on december 12. they are the parents of fredrick and twins robert and john. her education continued with a master's degree in early childhood literature, and programming in 1975 from webster university. patricia has a successful career as a teacher and children's book editor. she changed careers to become a full time writer of children and young adult books. her goal is to create books for and about african-americans. i write because there is a need to have books for, by and about the african-american experience and how we helped to develop this country. i present to you patricia makinsik heart of liter

, tennessee. muslims in the town have asked federal agents to be on site during services after the fbi says it has reason to believe that someone deliberately burned construction vehicles this weekend on the planned site of the islamic center of murfreesboro. a spokeswoman for the moving sq says they're scared. >> it's hard to explain to children what's go on. it's hard to explain to the little kids when they ask, are these people for or against us, it's really taking a toll on the community. >> well, there's been a moving in murfreesboro, one form or another, for 30 years and a spokeswoman says the existing one is too small. this is what they got approve toll build, where the suspected arson took place this weekend, that's the plan. a ball field, playground, burial ground, walking path swaz mosque. for the money, organizers say on the website 95% of it is from local donations. for the opposition, people have defaced and destroyed signs of the mosque, rallied against it the message you can see on the sign says "not welcome" and now, what appears to be arson. during a recent 700 club segment

, kentucky, tennessee, that's not the rain that's in our forecast really. it's just the stuff that's closest to us right now. that's the remnants of the moisture from hermine, which produced a lot of problems in texas and the plains states and flooding. so that is not in our immediate future. sunshine is. details on that coming up in the forecast in just a second or two. but now we have some traffic issues. >> yeah, one is causing some problems, hopefully to be cleaned up before most of the rush starts. but right now, northbound 795 is shut down right at owings mills boulevard because of a crash there. so something you definitely want to watch out for. take an alternate route if you're heading out the door in the incomes couple of minutes. in savage, we have a crash to watch out for at washington and williams street. in the city, we have preston street closed between howard and cathedral. that's going to be closed till sunday because of the baltimore symphony orchestra's gala and concert going on tomorrow. so just something to watch out for in the city there. we'll give you a live look at th
